When I was little I had a fascination with makeup. I would find magazines and TV Guides in the house and colour on the models/actresses faces with my pencil crayons. Sometimes, I would even sneak into my moms makeup bag and play around with the little makeup she had in there. I often wonder where this love of makeup came from because no one in my family was into it. Because of that, I wasn’t allowed to wear wear makeup until I was in the tenth grade and even then I was limited to only wearing blush, concealer and Lip Smackers.
It wasn’t until I graduated from college that my passion for makeup really began. I was spending hours on the computer searching and applying for jobs only to be discouraged with each application I sent through. One day, I took a break from applying for jobs and came across a YouTube video of a girl in and around my age applying makeup. I was amazed at how much makeup she owned in her collection and how creative she was! It inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone and learn how to apply makeup on myself.
To this day, I love makeup and while I’m now a mom and have had to scale back on how much and how often I wear it, I still enjoy watching those YouTube makeup tutorials and get excited when it comes to testing out and trying new products.
