Today is a very important day. It’s a day I’m very passionate about and take incredibly seriously. Everyone should take a moment of their time to celebrate and I can assure you that you’ll be happy you did. So go ahead. Take out that jar of Nutella and make your favourite snack to celebrate World Nutella Day!
Let’s be honest, I don’t need a day to celebrate Nutella because I’ve been eating it quite regularly these days. But I feel a lot less guilty indulging in my favourite snack knowing that today is a completely acceptable day to eat through the entire jar.
I’m such a Nutella fan that I own a cookbook dedicated to the delicious chocolate hazelnut spread. Although there are many different way to bake with Nutella, I often eat it alone with a spoon or love it spread on some good Italian crusty bread. I’m actually drooling just thinking about it.
Today, I’ve decided to make something a little different but equally as delicious and easy! I wouldn’t even consider it a recipe BUT with Valentines Day around the corner.. you could probably win over some hearts with this delicious dessert.
Puff pastry is one of those convenience items that I like to keep in my freezer. Making your own can be a very time consuming process so I often opt for the store-bought version. It will save you lots of time and its perfect for those days where you have company coming over and need a dessert! So whenever puff pastry goes on sale, make sure to stalk up!
Since it’s World Nutella Day and because it would be a sin if I didn’t celebrate, I wanted to make a Nutella dessert! I had already thawed some puff pastry in my fridge overnight and of course had Nutella in my pantry so these came together quite easily! They’reĀ definitely mom proof recipes as they’re super quick to make, require few ingredients and would even be fun for kids to join in and make with you (if you’d like). As with many of my recipes, feel free to make this your own and add in fun toppings like shredded coconut, chopped hazelnuts, marshmallows or ever fruit! Make sure to comment on this post and let me know your favourite way of eating Nutella and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram where I take you behind the scenes of my daily life!

- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 F
-
Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 large rectangles. Set two aside.

On the other two rectangles, spread 1 tbsp of melted butter and sprinkle each with cinnamon.

Place the rectangle pastry that you set aside over top of the Nutella covered rectangles to create a sandwich.

Using a fork, close and crimp the edge of the pastry to seal shut and poke the tops of the pockets a few times to let steam escape. Brush tops with remainder of butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
