Okay guys, I know my baby needs teeth but why does this teething process have to be so incredibly brutal and drawn out?! For the past two months I’ve been dealing with a very drooly baby and as of late she’s been incredibly irritable and it just breaks my heart! She is chewing anything and everything (she even attempted to chew on my coffee mug this morning) and I have yet to see any teeth break through! *sigh* And to think that we have to wait for HOW many teeth to pop up?! Too many!!! I just wish that they could all come up at once so we could get it over and done with haha.
At this time, we are trying to make our daughter as comfortable as possible as these little buds try to peek through. Our freezer is currently stocked with wet baby cloths and her chew toys have been taking turns in and out of the fridge so that they’re nice and chilled for when she needs them.
As a first time mom, the idea of using medicine on my baby is a little scary so I definitely prefer to take the natural approach whenever possible. I’ve been rubbing a combination of essential oils along our daughters jaw line which is supposed to help sooth her during teething. A friend gave me an essential oil rollerball blend of fractionated coconut oil with a few drops each of lavender and copaiba. I’ve also purchased the amber teething anklets which are said to offer a natural source of pain relief to sore and swollen gums. It’s too soon to tell if either are helping but I figure it’s worth a shot! I’ll let you all know how this pans out.
I’d love to hear any of your suggestions and recommendations on how to survive teething! What did you do to make your baby comfortable and how long after your baby was showing signs of teething did they sprout their first tooth? Comment down below and share your stories!
Happy Tuesday everyone!!
