If you’re a millennial mom with a Facebook and Instagram account, chances are you know who Cat and Nat are and if you’re not familiar with them, you should be!
Cat and Nat are two moms who have created a successful social media platform where they talk about all things ‘mom’ related. They run the “Cat and Nat Show” and are very well known for their “Mom Truths” uncensored videos where they literally talk about all the things that most mom’s go through but for some reason don’t talk about.
While I was pregnant, I began watching their videos more religiously and loved how authentic and open they were to sharing their views and stories about motherhood and relationships. They are fun, relatable and help a lot of moms out there feel a sense of normalcy while living in absolute chaos. They continuously motivate women to support each other and encourage us when we feel like this whole parenting gig is heading down hill. Cat and Nat have a great sense of humour and their honesty is something that I personally respect and admire most about them.
Last night, I had the pleasure and opportunity to attend their first ever “FUN Show by Cat and Nat” at the CBC Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto! A sold out crowd of women from all over gathered around and watched Cat and Nat host their live show. There was dancing, food (I ate the most delicious cauliflower I have ever had thanks to Fidel Gastros), cocktails and lots of fun to be had. Cat and Nat put on a great show and although I would have loved for it to have been more intimate so that I could have had the opportunity to chat with them some more, seeing over 300 like-minded women in the same room was inspiring and also motivating.
Special thanks to my friend Julianne and her girlfriends who let me tag along with them to last nights show! Julianne is not only a friend but also an amazing hairstylist who you may have seen on Cat and Nat’s live shows and Insta-stories. She’s their hair extensions guru, amazing hairstylist and a mom of three boys! You can follow her on Instagram at @hairbyjules !
When it’s all said and done, motherhood is the best but hardest job in the world. There’s this special bond between all mom’s out there who understand the struggle of parenting and thanks to Cat and Nat, women from all over the world now have this social platform where they can chat about things that all mothers have in common – the “Social Common“, if you will.
Congratulations to Cat and Nat on a successful and fun night- you ladies killed it and I hope that you enjoyed your first show with many more to come!
